Tutorial Related Questions
Question: What types of tutorials? What subjects?
Answer: At RandomMomentania, we want to cover subjects we find interesting and think will be helpful for others. This means 2D tutorials, 3D tutorials, UI tutorials, and more! On a whole, we lean towards 3D tutorials, as that is what we are most experienced in, but all subjects relating to game development are possible! If you have any special requests or ideas on what we should cover, please let us know!
Question: How often will tutorials come out?
Answer: It really depends on what we have going at the time, what the tutorial is, and other factors that may be beyond our control. Right now, tutorials will come out when there is time to write them! I wish I could offer a more consistent, definite answer, but things are not in the place where I can have that level of certainty.
Question: Will you make video tutorials?
Answer: Maybe in the future! Right now, I am not in an environment where I can make video tutorials, but that may change in the future. I am not ruling it out, but for the immediate future, there are likely to only be written tutorials.
Question: Can I use the examples in the tutorials in my own projects?
Answer: Yes! You can use the examples provided on your own projects. All project downloads should include a license document explaining the license for the assets and what can and cannot be done. In general, the important part is giving credit, not claiming the assets to be your own, and not redistributing the tutorial or project material is often all that is required. (Please check the provided licenses though! This is just a general answer and the license details in the downloads supersedes this answer)
Question: Are you open to collaborations or sponsored tutorials?
Answer: Please get in touch! I cannot say for sure without knowing more details, so please include as much detail as you can when contacting us. Thanks!

Question: Can I redistribute material on this website?
Answer:
- Text and Video CANNOT be redistributed, especially tutorials.
- Links to downloads CANNOT be redistributed.
- The project files themselves are licensed seperately. Please read the included LICENSE.html or LICENSE.pdf carefully to know the various licensing requirements for the assets provided in downloadable projects.
- Audio and/or images in the written part of the tutorial CAN be redistributed as long as you give proper credit. These assets are licensed under CC By 4.0 unless otherwise noted.
- The downloadable desktop backgrounds CANNOT be redistributed.
- Anything not included in this list CANNOT be redistricted. If you have any questions, please get in touch!
Question: Can I release a game with the assets provided in tutorials?
Answer: Yes, but please read the material in the LICENSE files carefully to know the various licensing requirements. Failure to comply with the licensing for the provided material lies solely with YOU. RandomMomentia is not responsible for any problems that may arise from your failure to comply to the licensing for the provided material.

Question: How do I comment on a tutorial or other page on RandomMomentania?
Answer: Comments are disabled. Some old tutorials mention leaving comments, but that was before the feature was disabled. Comments were causing slowdowns and problems due to spam. In the future, comments may return, but for now, please consider getting in touch via email if you have any feedback. Thanks!
Question: Will you do live streams?
Answer: See the answer for video tutorials in the Tutorial-Related-Questions section. In general, it will not be possible in the foreseeable future due to a number of factors.
If I do live streams in the future though, they will likely be gaming livestreams rather than development streams. That way, I could offer interesting content consistently across streams.
Question: Product reviews / Will you review our product?
Answer: Please contact us with the details! Please keep in mind that RandomMomentania is game development focused, and thus any reviews we give would be from that angle.
